~ScrewedConsumer：I discovered that I was over-charged by Direct TV for * years for * standard receivers that I had disconnected in **** (when we upgraded our service to HD). The total came to $***.**. I called Direct TV three times within a week and a half to try to have them credit my account, and was basically told that it was my fault for not noticing it sooner, and that they could only credit me for * year. TOTALLY UNACCEPTABLE. Direct TV had no problem taking my money, but apparently have a very hard time giving back what does not belong to them. I did not notice the excess charges as I was told when I upgraded the service that I would be charged a higher amount based on receiving a HD signal (versus standard), which is why I never noticed the excess charge for the * receivers that I had removed from my home. Direct TV is awful and it's customer service is the worse. Also, I might add, we have been a customer for ** years - and it made no difference. Truly awful.
