~takobaka:I applied for credit. The idea was to purchase an appliance and save *% with their credit card deal. I earn about $**,*** a year, have no major credit issues, and have never received a new credit line of less than $**** or so (since the age of ** - I am now **). So Lowe's approves me for $***. Not only can I not purchase the appliance with the card, which means I also forgo the deal, but now I'm stuck with a waste-of-time credit line. So I cancelled it. They were actually surprisingly efficient in cancelling it, it was all done by machine (via phone) within * minutes of the credit approval. So no hassle there. $*** won't even get me a ***oz. of gold these days. Useless IMHO.
