~univ111:I paid for a commercial Xilinx tool license for Vivado, their new HDL development environment. I submitted a webcase on Vivado. I get a response that because I'm employed by a university that I am not entitled for support from Xilinx notwithstanding that I purchased the Xilinx product and am a paying customer. To this day (it has been a month) there has been no change in this situation. I think this is fraudulent. They were more than happy to accept our $*K for the tool license with no mention of this support discrimination up front. Too bad the university is unwilling to press this.
