While her grasp of basic English may have been adequate for reading a script and looking up an order, she was unable to do anything in deviation from her scripts. In addition, when my issue turned out to be one that was not on her scripts, I was told to simply "ignore the notification emails". When I asked to speak to a supervisor, she tried to tell me that the supervisor would say exactly the same thing she did. In addition, she argued with me about transferring me. I finally kept repeating "Are you refusing to escalate this call?" over and over until she escalated. Five minutes with a supervisor (who was also obviously a native speaker of English), and the matter was cleared up.
