Weeks upon weeks of submitting support tickets with no response (I don't live in the USA so phoning was not an option). Finally, once back in North America, I was able to call to try to get them to allow my domains to be transferred to another registrar. This proved to be next to impossible and after hours and hours of being on the phone and numerous phone calls, it was finally done. This is something simple that is completely automated with other registrars. I can only recommend to steer-clear of Dotster...
